If you weren’t at Coachella this weekend you were in for a treat courtesy of “Blum & Poe” gallery that hosted its six solo exhibition for Japanese pop artist Takashi Murakami. The show titled “Arhat” that translates from the ancient language of Sanskrit to “a being who has achieved a state of enlightenment” featured three large sculptures and insanely huge paintings in “nihonga” as well as the familiar Murakami’s “superflat” styles making it one impressive body of work and hell of a spectacle. The show is open until May 25th and really should be seen in person.
